Early life[]

Baker was born in Bloomington, Indiana, and grew up in Greeley, Colorado. He started performing at age 9 and steadily worked in musicals, operas, plays, and stand up until college, where he won the Boettcher scholarship and attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where he majored in Philosophy, Biology and German. He worked as an actor and singer which led him to Los Angeles where he established his career on voice acting.

Career[]

In addition to voice acting credits, Baker has appeared on game shows such as Legends of the Hidden Temple, which was also his debut in voice acting (credited as "Dee Baker") and Shop 'til You Drop. In 1999, he voiced "Pig George" in the movie My Brother the Pig. In 2007, he is the voice of Captain Jack Sparrow's talking parrot in the newly refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean rides at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.

He is best known for his roles Appa, Momo and various other voices in the series Avatar: The Last Airbender, and as Naga, Pabu, Oogi, and council member Tarrlok for the sequel series The Legend of Korra, the Clone Troopers in the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, all of Ben's aliens in Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse, Dad in Cow and Chicken, Klaus Heissler and Kisses in American Dad, Og in Mike, Lu and Og, Sanjay, Binky and numerous other characters in Fairly Oddparents, Turner in Handy Manny, Ace Palmero and Johnny Hitswell in The Replacements, Perry the Platypus in Phineas and Ferb, Dr. Curt Conners "The Lizard" in The Spectacular Spider-Man, Nightcrawler in the video game X-Men Legends, Numbuh 4 in Codename: Kids Next Door and Pierre Parrot in Talking Friends.

Trivia[]

He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, honoris causa at his alma mater, Colorado College, on September 5, 2005.

He shares a role with another D. Baker. Both he and actor Dylan Baker have played the role of the Spider-Man villain, "Dr. Curt Connors" aka "The Lizard". Dylan played "Dr. Connors" in both Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man 3 (2007). And Dee Bradley voiced "Dr. Connors" in The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008) animated series, as well as the video games Spider-Man (2000) and Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (2001).

He speaks fluent German. Minored in German at Colorado College.
